Our Philanthropy

We are proud to announce our philanthropic partnership with Miami Water Keeper for this year’s iteration of 305MUN.

Florida has over 8,000 miles of coastline and over 800 miles. Almost entirely surrounded by water, a large part of Florida’s economy stems from the oceans and waterways.

Florida is particularly vulnerable to water pollution as a result of the low geographical elevation, porosity of the geological landscape, and the overall threat of sea-level pollution.

Miami Water Keeper is working to combat clean water issues, protect marine ecosystems, and build sea level rise resiliency.

The University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Sciences is located on the shores of Virginia Key, making this a truly pertinent issue for our team. Through 305MUN’s partnership with Miami Water Keeper, we hope to make a tangible impact on the world around us. So many of the members of our team enjoy the beautiful beaches of Miami and we want to give back to the places that have given us so much.

We encourage delegates to think more about these issues as you explore Miami. For more information, please visit https://www.miamiwaterkeeper.org/.
